Remember when you were a kid, how much you looked forward to school holidays?
School holidays are certainly a wonderful time for children, but for many parents, it can also be a stressful time.
Parents face the challenge of balancing work commitments and the burning question of how to keep the kids entertained without stretching the budget? A challenge I hear only too often from families feeling the financial pinch.
That’s why these school holidays, Council is making sure you have access to a full program of fun, engaging and affordable activities and events to keep your kids’ minds and bodies active.
From 12-26 April, our libraries will be buzzing with all types of fun including family movie screenings, scrapbook journaling, craft sessions and Youth Dungeons and Dragons – all completely FREE.
Your kids can also get involved in an art workshop, Japanese gardening class or even a hip-hop workshop for a small fee.
If your kids prefer sporting activities, they can sign up to one of our programs to shoot a hoop at one of our basketball courts or show off their skills on the soccer field. Budding scientists and problem-solvers can dive into our STEM kids’ group.
There’s something for every child to enjoy, whether they love to create, move or discover. So, take advantage of Council’s school holiday activities and make this break one to remember.
