Hall Hire FAQs

We encourage that you check availability of your preferred date and time by calling our Community Facilities Team on 02 9707 5770 during business hours or complete an Enquiry Form for Community Hall Hire online.

No bookings can be taken over the phone and no spaces held. To book a facility, please submit an Application for Casual Hall Hire for Community Halls and Centres online. A booking can only be accepted and confirmed once full payment of hire fees and applicable bonds has been received.

The total hire cost of your booking depends on the category of the hall that you wish to hire along with the timing and day of your event. In addition to the hire cost, a security bond must also be paid for all hall hire bookings.  We encourage you to learn more about the fees and charges associated with your booking by visiting the Venue Hire Charges page or contacting our Community Facilities Team on 02 9707 5770

Your booking is considered confirmed when you receive a Confirmation Letter from Council and a receipt of payment.

The Community Facilities team will generally contact you directly in the week leading up to you booking to arrange a suitable time for collection of keys, alarm codes or Swipe Access Cards for the facility you have booked. Keys can be collected one (1) business day prior to your booking from our Bankstown Customer Service Centre, located on the Upper Ground Floor of Civic Tower at 66-72 Rickard Road Bankstown or as otherwise arranged with the Community Facilities team.

Access to the facility, including all set up and pack down, is strictly limited to the booked day(s) and time(s) listed on your Confirmation Letter. Unfortunately, you are unable to access the hall or facility before commencement of your confirmed hire.

The hall must also be fully vacated, closed and re-armed (if applicable) by the conclusion time listed on your Confirmation Letter. Entering the facility early or overstaying your hire will be considered a breach of hire and a penalty of double the hourly rate may be deducted from the security bond.

All of Council's halls and facilities are equipped with tables and chairs based on the capacity of the spaces.

We encourage you to view each individual venue webpage for more information on the number of chairs and tables provided.

Decorations must be removed completely by the finish time indicated on your Confirmation Letter. If additional cleaning is required as a result of decorations being left in the hall or damage to walls, this may result in an additional Cleaning Fee being deducted the security bond paid.

Helium balloons are only permitted on weights and must be removed by the finish time and disposed of responsibly.

We encourage you to refer to the Terms and Conditions of Hire.

The kitchen is bare. You will need to bring garbage bags, tablecloths, detergent, dishcloths, tea towels, serving utensils, plates, cups, cutlery, etc. You also need to carry your Letter of Confirmation from Council at all times whilst onsite as Security staff or patrolling Council Rangers may request to view this.

You are required to wipe down all tables and chairs that you have used, and stack them neatly back in their designated areas. Please sweep floor, ensuring all rubbish has been picked up. Place all rubbish and decorations in garbage bags. If you have used the kitchen, please clean it and leave it the way you found it. Failure to leave the facility the way you found it will result in any additional cleaning costs being deducted from your bond. When leaving the hall make sure all doors are closed and locked. If the hall has an alarm, please follow the instructions located on your key tag and information sheet. You must set the alarm as you exit from the hall.
