Learn how we're planning for the future of Canterbury-Bankstown.

Canterbury-Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023 and Development Control Plan 2023
The Canterbury-Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023 and Development Control Plan 2023, a comprehensive planning framework, is now in effect.

In 2019, our Council introduced Connective City 2036, a strategic planning vision that serves as a guide for our City's growth. This vision focuses on sustainable development, the preservation of our environment, the provision of housing for future generations, and the maximisation of employment opportunities.

The next phase involved the development of our Consolidated Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan. These planning documents embody the vision of Connective City 2036 and merge the regulations of the former councils into a single set of planning rules. They will apply to all development applications lodged on or after 23 June 2023.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during the transition to our new planning controls, as these changes happen periodically.
