Our Bin Day Finder is a simple online tool that allows you to quickly and easily find out your bin day, your yellow/green bin cycle or download a printable waste calendar.

We start early! Please make sure you put your bins out the night before so we don’t miss them.

If you’ve put your bin out on time and in the right location but we missed it, let us know by clicking on the Report It button below and we’ll arrange for a special collection.

Help us reduce the number of missed bins by placing your bins on the kerb as late as possible the night before your scheduled collection. Make sure they are positioned so the truck can collect them easily – that means with the wheels away from the kerb, a 30cm gap between the bins and one metre away from parked cars, poles, trees and other obstacles.

Let us know what the problem is and we’ll send a team to repair it – free of charge.

First, please check that your bin isn’t in your neighbour’s yard or down the street. If it’s gone, let us know and we’ll deliver a replacement.

If your bins are always too full, the property owner or rate payer can apply for an additional red, yellow and/or green bin. There is an additional charge for an extra bin.

If you need additional bin space for medical waste, such as sanitary products or dialysis waste, you can apply for an additional bin.

If you’re demolishing and rebuilding your property, you can put a temporary pause on your bin service and pay a lower waste service charge during this period.

Bin etiquette

Every household has been provided with bins for their own waste and recycling needs.

Placing anything in a neighbour's bin is unfair and can cause problems in the recycling system.

If you have too much waste or recycling for a single bin collection you could:

  1. Ask your neighbour to use their bin and be careful to use the right one - red, yellow or green
  2. Store your waste for the next collection
  3. Take the extra waste to a transfer station

If you frequently exceed the capacity of your existing waste collection service, you can get additional collection services for your rubbish (red lid), recycling (yellow lid) or garden waste (green lid) bins.

To apply for this service, call please contact our Customer Service Centre on 9707 9000 (fees apply).
