Everyone can join Canterbury-Bankstown Libraries for FREE. You can join at any of our nine branches, or join online now for immediate access to our eLibrary.
Our programs and events include programs for children and adults, as well as our extensive collection of books, DVDs, magazines and more. There are regular programs for children, like storytimes, Homework Help and After School Fun. Adult programs include English language classes, movie nights, crafts, book clubs and seniors tech classes. We have JP services at most branches every week and regularly hold special events, celebrating different cultures, special occasions or just for fun! And all our branches have free WiFi, computers and printers for you to use.
If you join online you can immediately access eAudio, eBooks, eMagazines and eMovies. You can also search our catalogue and start reserving items. Online memberships are temporary, but just pop into one of our nine branches with the identification shown below to turn it into a full membership and take advantage of the many services and programs on offer.
To join in person, or convert an online membership to a full membership, please visit one of our branches with:
- ONE form of photo identification that shows your name and current address, for example a current NSW Driver's Licence or NSW Photo Card or
- TWO forms of identification, if you do not have photo identification, such as:
- a current Health Care Card
- a Council rates notice
- telephone, electricity, or gas bill no more than 3 months old
- Medicare or student card if the person applying is under 16 years old.
- A child under 16 years of age must have a parent or guardian's signature to join.
- Library and Knowledge Centre members can borrow up to 25 physical items free of charge, including music CDs and DVDs. You can borrow DVDs and magazines for two weeks, and books and music CDs for three weeks. You can renew your items twice. You can visit, phone the library, or go online to renew.
