Making of an Interim Heritage Order – 64 Homer Street, Earlwood

Under Section 28 (1) (d) of the Heritage Act 1977, Council is giving notice that it has made an Interim Heritage Order applying to 64 Homer Street, Earlwood.

A copy of the order can be viewed here.

The order aims to temporarily protect the property because of a development application which has been lodged (DA-1340-2025). This application is for the demolition of the existing house and construction of an attached dual occupancy  and subdivision of the land. It also includes a swimming pool and related landscaping. A heritage consultant, Lucas Stapleton Johnson, has completed a preliminary heritage assessment to support the order.

The Interim Heritage Order lasts up to 12 months. However, Council needs to decide whether to officially list the property as a local heritage item in the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023 within 6 months.  If Council decides not to list it or doesn’t decide within 6 months, then the order lapses.

Please contact the Strategic Planning Team on 9707 9000 if you have any further enquiries.
