Make sure you stop by for FREE cooking demonstrations with Big Sam Young and Karima Hazim, or book a food tour to experience the culinary delights of Bankstown.
Don’t forget to check out the FREE kids’ activities, street performers, live music and masterclasses while you’re there. It’s going to be a big one!
Can’t wait? Join us for the Bites Sneak Peek pre-event on Friday, 25 July at Bankstown Arts Centre.
Bankstown Bites is proudly sponsored by Western Union, Bankstown Sports, Sydney Water and Sydney Metro.
Every great city is built on strong foundations – roads, parks and public infrastructure, and services like waste and community support – but what truly sets us apart is how we bring people together.
That’s what Bankstown Bites is all about. More than just a food festival, this event represents the heart of our city – a multicultural, energetic and proud community coming together to celebrate everything that makes us unique.
Now in its 20th year, Bankstown Bites is back and bigger than ever. Not every council can say they host an event that draws thousands of people, showcases global cuisines and highlights the rich diversity of Australia.
This year, you’ll be able to sample mouth-watering dishes from more than 30 countries, enjoy live music and performances, watch celebrity chefs Karima Hazim and Big Sam Young cook up a storm, and explore the stories and traditions behind the flavours.
Our famous food tours return, plus there’ll be free cooking demos, kids’ activities, dancing and even a good old-fashioned potato bake-off!
As Mayor, I’m incredibly proud that we host one of Sydney’s most exciting and inclusive events. Bankstown Bites is proof that we’re not just a City that delivers – we celebrate, we lead and we bring people together.
I’ll be participating in a cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Karima Hazim to make a traditional Lebanese dish on the day. I will also be making my rounds through the stalls and probably going back for seconds!
I look forward to seeing you there this Saturday 26 July from 10am to 4pm at Griffith Park.
There will also be a brand-new pre-event on Friday 25 July, from 5.30 to 9.30pm at Bankstown Arts Centre where you can take part in a collaborative art project, sample food, chill out with live music and hang with some of Sydney’s top social media food stars including TikTok star Mahmoud Ismail!
So, save the dates and rally your family and friends for a weekend full of food, fun and good vibes.
