Active Seniors in the City
Almost a quarter of residents in Canterbury-Bankstown are 55 years old or greater.
Valuing our seniors in the community
Our older residents are an essential part of our community. Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy a meaningful life and a valued role as they age. While the needs of residents change over time, ageing is a unique experience for each person. Individual circumstances, values and cultural backgrounds shape expectations and priorities.
We celebrate the diversity of our seniors and provide programs and activities to support seniors all year round that help them stay active, creative and connected – from transport assistance and social programs to home safety support and personal care. Plus, we proudly host the annual NSW Seniors Festival, featuring an exciting lineup of activities and events.
