How works may affect you
There will be a full road closure and traffic diversions in place. Fencing will barricade the work area and some access, pedestrian traffic and parking will be temporarily altered.
Traffic changes: Uranus Road, just west of Shirley Street intersection to Hydrae Street will be fully closed with detours in place. Heavy vehicles and more trucks will be passing through the area. Detour signage and traffic controllers will help motorists and pedestrians to move safely around the site.
Anticipated completion April 2026, weather permitting.
Council is upgrading the existing stormwater network beneath Uranus Road where it crosses Little Salt Pan Creek to accommodate heavy rainfall and reduce high-risk flooding in the area.
Key elements of the project include:
- Removal of existing large concrete pipes
- Relocating a gas line
- Re-alignment and rock armouring of constructed creek bank
- Constructing a maintenance access track
- Installing a new three-cell box culvert
When will works occur?
Construction will occur Monday to Friday between 7am-5pm and Saturday between 8am-4pm
Work started late-September 2025 and is expected to be complete by end - April 2026, weather permitting.
