Asset Management Strategy

Council plans, builds and looks after a range of assets to support services to the community.

An asset is anything valuable owned by the Council that helps provide services to the community. These assets include roads, footpaths, drainage and water quality devices, parks, sporting complexes and playgrounds, libraries, amenities and other community buildings as well as Council’s administration facilities, depots and other operational assets. If they were to be built/bought new today, the overall cost would be more than $6.2 billion.

The Asset Management Strategy is a 10-year plan which outlines the challenges faced by Council in managing these assets and the strategies to manage these now and for future generations.
