How works may affect you

The needs for repairs to the bridges on First Avenue in Belfield and Second Avenue in Campsie will change local traffic and bus routes. A 4.5 tonne load limit starts 28 October 2025. Bus 942 will be rerouted, and temporary stops added. Parking and traffic conditions will also change near the bridges.

Bus route changes

To keep services running, bus 942 will be rerouted via Omaha Street and Seventh Avenue.

Temporary bus stops will be located at:

  • Omaha Street (southern side), east of Lincoln Street
  • Omaha Street (northern side), next to Rudd Park
  • Seventh Avenue (northern side), east of First Avenue

Bus services will return to their original route once repairs are complete.

Traffic and parking impacts

To keep the area safe, we'll:

  • Install load limit signs
  • Place No Stopping signs on both sides of the bridges
  • Add temporary speed humps near the bridges

These changes will be presented to the Local Traffic Forum for approval.

You may notice increased traffic and reduced parking near the temporary bus stops.

We’ll work to minimise disruption and restore normal conditions as soon as possible.
