Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2022, 11am-8pm

For one weekend only, the heart of Campsie will be transformed into a buzzing street festival celebrating this diverse suburb’s dynamic Chinese-Malaysian food and culture. 

Expect some exciting specialty rice and noodle dishes, moreish tapioca and sesame inspired desserts, and refreshing drinks from neighbourhood favourites including:

  • Albee’s Kitchen
  • Malaysia Hometown Hawker
  • Hexin Bros
  • S.Wheaty

A dedicated durian stall will be offering durians for sale, as well as durian ice-creams, and an exciting pop-up Tiger Beer bar will be operating all weekend.

There will be gamescapes for the kids, as well as children’s entertainers and roaming performance artists, plus other entertainment including:

  • Beats by DJ Alice Tauv, DJ Nam and Deejay Djinn
  • Live jazz shows by Zodiac and Chuey
  • Inclusive comedy by Tight 5 Comedy
  • Kids’ Lion and Dragon Dance workshops by Jin Wu Koon
  • LED juggling by Levitated Inversions
  • Mochi-making performance by Asians That Attract
  • Ceramic fortune cookie-making by Jayanto Tan
  • Wok Fu demonstration by Dim Sim Lim
  • Pedicab rides by Rosell Flatley
  • Dance performances by Suara Indonesia Dance and Shanshan Dancing Studio
  • Waacking dance showcases by RAENGIRL
  • Boogie Down dance battles curated by Kapow, For The World

Running from 11am-8pm both days, the Campsie Street Festival is being held as part of the NSW Government’s Festival of Place Open Streets program, which supports community events and activities that see streets reimagined as places for people.

Situated right in the heart of Campsie, this event is perfect for the whole family and a great way to get outdoors and reconnect with the community.

Road closure notice

The Campsie Street Festival event site will incorporate:

  • Beamish Street between Evaline Street and South Parade
  • Dewar Street between Lillian Street and Anzac Square
  • Anzac Square between Anglo Road and Dewar Street
  • Amy Street between Amy Lane and Beamish Street
  • Anglo Road eastbound between Carrington Square and Anzac Square

This will require these sections of roadway to be closed to traffic and this will have an impact on parking in the Campsie CBD.

A traffic detour will be in place, with Beamish Street vehicle traffic to be detoured to South Parade, Duke Street and Evaline Street.

For business owners and operators, these road closures will have an access impact for the supply and delivery of goods.

Hours of Operation: Road closures and the Beamish Street detour route will be in place from 7pm Friday 20 May to 5am Monday 23 May 2022.

How to get here

The Campsie Street Festival takes place on Beamish Street and Anzac Mall, Campsie.
  
Located in the heart of Greater Sydney, this exciting event is easily accessible by public transport with the T3 Bankstown Line and Campsie Station just a two-minute walk away. Plan your trip at transportnsw.info.
  
Road closures will also be in place, so we recommend taking public transport to visit us at the Campsie Street Festival.
