Drainage upgrade in Bankstown CBD

Stage 1 of the Bankstown CBD drainage upgrade is complete and North Terrace will be reopening to traffic.

Stage 2 is about to start and will run until May 2025. During this time, The Appian Way will be closed to traffic from the junction of North Terrace to The Mall.

Please use the diversion shown below, or an alternative route. Short-term traffic changes will include a temporary roundabout at the junction of The Mall, Jacob Street and Bankstown Central car park. The Compass Centre car park entry will also be altered to Fetherstone Street.

This project will futureproof Bankstown from heavy rainfall events with a $25M upgrade to the CBD stormwater system.
