Welcome to the 3rd Bankstown Biennale: Same Same/Different
 
Our 3rd Bankstown Biennale starts this Saturday, featuring 17 prominent contemporary artists, more than 10 highlight activities, three Up Late nights and more!

View new and recent work from First Nations and CALD artists that find connection while celebrating individuality. Take part in events and programs to learn about and explore the idea of interconnection. And join us in January for Up Late, featuring art, markets, music and performances. 

When: 23 November 2024-1 February 2025
Where: Bankstown Arts Centre, 5 Olympic Parade, Bankstown 
 
Bankstown Christmas Village Markets – one week away!

Our Christmas Village Markets will transform Bankstown with delicious food and a selection of gift ideas for the whole family, plus FREE kids’ games and craft activities, face painting, jumping castle and a special appearance from Santa and his elf.

When: Thursday 28 November, 5.30-8.30pm
Where: The Appian Way Forecourt and Paul Keating Park, Bankstown 

Don’t worry if you can’t make it – we’ll be popping up in Campsie on 12 December. 

CBCity’s Mayoral Christmas Toy Donation Drive
Help bring joy to Canterbury-Bankstown children in need this Christmas by donating NEW, unwrapped items:
  • Arts and craft supplies
  • Beach towels, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Toys, books and stationery
  • Gift cards and vouchers
Donations can be dropped off up until Wednesday 11 December during opening hours at our customer service centres and Bankstown and Campsie libraries. 
Drainage upgrade in Bankstown CBD

Stage 2 of the Bankstown drainage upgrade is underway and will run until May 2025. During this time, The Appian Way will be closed to traffic from the junction of North Terrace to The Mall. 

This project will futureproof Bankstown from heavy rainfall events with a $25M upgrade to the CBD stormwater system. 

Diversions are in place.

Australia Day Awards
We’re proud to recognise outstanding people and community organisations each year at our Australia Day Awards.

Help us by nominating a deserving person now in one of the following six categories:

Annual Financial Statements

The next ordinary Meeting of Council will be held on 26 November and will include the audited Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Reports for last financial year (1 July 2023-30 June 2024). In line with Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), we are putting these documents on exhibition so you can view them and share any feedback.

Anyone can submit feedback or comments about the Council's audited Financial Statements or the Auditor's Reports. Submissions must be made in writing and sent to us by 5pm Tuesday 3 December (7 days after the ordinary meeting).

A summary of the Financial Statements is provided below.

A copy of Council's Audited Financial Statements can be viewed at Bankstown and Campsie Customer Service Centres and all nine Library and Knowledge Centres from 15 November-3 December 2024. Written submissions must be received by 5pm 3 December 2024 via:
