​​​​​​​​​​​COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS: Service updates - as of Monday 21 September 2020

The re-opening of full library services at all nine branches stages will be reviewed periodically. For your safety, all returned books are quarantined for at least 36 hours before they are shelved or loaned out again.

Opening hours for all branches

Front desk services are available on a limited basis.​​

The numbers of people allowed at each branch will depend on the size of the library while adhering to the rule of a maximum number of people per 4sq m. 
 Bankstown and Campsie Libraries​

  • Mon - Thurs - 9.30am-8pm. 
  • Fri​ - 9.30am-5pm. ​

Earlwood and Greenacre Libraries​

  • ​​Mon-Fri​ - 9:30am-5pm.

Chester Hill,  Lakemba, Padstow, Panania and Riverwood Libraries    
Mon & Thurs - 9:30am-8pm.

  • Tues, Wed & Fri​ - 9.30am-5​pm.

All branches closed on weekends & public holidays.

Library eResources​ 

Resources available through the eLibrary continue to operate as normal and are available 24/7. Access a  range of online services here.​

Browsing of collections across all nine branches. There will be no access to physical newspapers.

The click and collect service will continue across all nine branch libraries.

Click and Collect​​

Our Click and Collect service lets you reserve your favourite resources, including books, magazines and DVDs, over the phone or online, before arranging a time for pickup.

It's easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Visit our online library catalogue​ or call 9707 9932  to reserve items;
  2. We'll contact you  (via text, email or phone call) to let you know your items are ready to pickup;
  3. All that's left to do is collect your items!​ 

Please bring your ID with your photo and current address in case your card has expired recently; w​e can renew it for you when we view your ID. 

HSC Study Sessions​

Bankstown Library
These free sessions  are available on Mon  and Thurs nights, 4-8pm​.​

From 6 Oct - 9 Nov, HSC study spaces will be available Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs nights, 4-8pm.
Lakemba Library
Sessions will be available on Tuesday 13, 20 and 27 October. 

​​Bookings are essential – book here.  
Students can also take advantage of the general study areas available in each library. Check the hours above for late night sessions.​

Using computers, printers and meeting spaces

Computing and printing facilities will be available at all nine branches with a time limit of up to 2 hours per session. Please contact your local library for availability and book before attending to avoid disappointment.

Study spaces and free Wi-Fi access  are available. All usage must strictly observe the one person per 4sqm rule.

24/7 return chutes

The 24-hour return chutes remain active at Bankstown, Campsie, Chester Hill, Lakemba and Riverwood libraries. ​Otherwise returns can be processed manually at all branches. Returns are quarantined for 24 hours before processing.
