Television host, cook and winner of MasterChef 2017 Diana Chan and fan favourites Arrnott and Fuzz from My Kitchen Rules 2022 will be sharing their cooking secrets with eager foodies at Bankstown Bites.

The celebrity chefs will be doing cooking demonstrations and meeting fans throughout the food festival on Saturday 29 July.

For Arrnott and Fuzz, it’s a dream come true to be on stage at the festival this year.

“I have attended Bankstown Bites many times before and I love the variety of food on offer and the vibe in the air with all the visitors,” Arrnott said.

“We are cooking my Fijian curry chicken recipe on the day, and it’s one that is a hit with everyone that’s tasted it. So, I’m so excited we get to share it with everyone, and people will get to taste a little bit of Fiji and it’ll start a love of Fijian cuisine.

“I love that there is a vibrant community of Fijian and Pacific Island people in the Canterbury-Bankstown area… when I first moved to Australia I lived in Punchbowl and have some fantastic memories of performing and working with Council at various events.

“I’m excited to be returning to the area that first me made feel welcome and gave me so many amazing opportunities, as a new migrant from Fiji.”

On the other hand, this will be the first time Diana Chan will experience Bankstown Bites.

“I am looking forward to meeting the locals and seeing what Bankstown has to offer,” Chan said.

“I'm humbled and honoured to be a part of Bankstown Bites... I can't wait to share my recipes on stage with everyone and sample some of the food.

“I will be demonstrating chawanmushi, which is a Japanese custard. I chose to demonstrate this dish because it is often served at fine Japanese restaurants and I want to show people just how easy it is to prepare at home.

“I’ll also be making otak otak, which is a Malaysian fish parcel that’s delicately spiced but packed full of flavour. It’s something I grew up eating.”

Highlights of the festival include dozens of food stalls, live entertainment, a cake decorating competition, kids’ activities, roving entertainers and 16 different Food Tours – brought to you by Time Out.
