From wildlife photography to yoga by the river, nature journalling and guided bushwalks; this year’s Nature Fest includes a special focus on the mental health benefits nature can bring us.

More than 30 events will be held from 6 September to 29 November, with highlights including:

  • A twilight bat tour in Earlwood
  • A nature safari in Bankstown
  • A Wellbeing Festival in Georges Hall which includes a First Nations ‘walkshop’.

Native plant giveaways, tree planting events, a native beekeeping workshop and educational talks on pollinators, birds and habitat gardening will also be on offer.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the festival was a timely reminder of the importance of nature in our everyday lives.

“Spring is here and there’s no better time to step out into nature and take advantage of the natural beauty that’s on offer in our local communities,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“Nature Fest is more than just a celebration of our environment—it’s a chance for our community to reconnect with the land and with each other.

“There are so many fun activities on offer; whether you’re a seasoned nature lover or just looking for a moment of calm, there’s something for everyone at Nature Fest.”
