Hurlstone Park Children's Centre (HPCC) is nestled in the leafy streets of Hurlstone Park, close to Ewen Park.
HPCC is licensed for 40 children per day and they are grouped in three rooms according to age. We currently enrol four children aged under two in the Nursery room, fifteen two to three year olds in the La Boca room, and twenty three to five year olds in the Chinchero room. These room names are related to areas in Argentina and Peru, and reflective of these two earlier populations common to Hurlstone Park.
Our centre is unique in having a playground separated in two levels to cater for various activities. We currently include yoga in our program. We have a worm farm and a seedling exchange program, as well as a large vegetable garden tended by parents as well as children and educators. We have completed building works to provide a doorway directly from a playroom into the garden area for easier access, through a government grant for quality learning environments.
