Get ready to jingle your bells and rock around the Christmas tree because Carols in the Park is returning this Saturday 7 December.
Wiley Park Amphitheatre will come alive for a festive night of carols and Christmas cheer from 4-9pm.
Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek encouraged the community to come along to the free event and get into the holiday spirit.
“We’ve lined up some fantastic entertainment, plenty of activities for the kids and great food for all the family to enjoy,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
The jam-packed program of onstage entertainment, brought to you by Montessori Academy, includes everyone’s favourite Christmas carols performed by Play School star Monica Trapaga and her band, the Crawfish Po Boys, alongside the soulful Loren Ryan and The Voice Australia finalist Siena Fodera.
The 19-year-old is on a high after The Voice Season 13 finished up in October and is excited to continue singing into the Christmas season.
“I had an amazing time on the Voice and life has been just as busy since, if not more!” Fodera said.
“Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I’m looking forward to helping spread that cheer through carols events.”
Fodera said she is most excited to sing her personal favourite at Carols in the Park – All I want for Christmas is You. She will also be singing You Make me Feel like a Natural Woman, an ode to her first blind audition on The Voice when she was just 13 years old.
An Auslan interpreter will be present for the on-stage performances, so everyone can enjoy the Christmas cheer.
There will also be a variety of free activities for the kids including Christmas craft workshops, face painting and a candy land jumping castle.
And don’t miss the chance to get a free Santa photo, brought to you by Bankstown Sports Club, and take a family Christmas photo with Essential Photo Booths.
The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale and a special visit from Santa and his elves.
Mayor El-Hayek said he hopes everyone has an amazing time coming together and appreciating the true essence of the festive season.
