Get lost in books this summer holidays with CBCity Libraries!
1 December 2025 to 1 February 2026
Children and youth up to 18 years are invited to join CBCity Libraries' fun summer reading club and Australia’s biggest library-supported reading challenge from 1 December 2025 to 1 February 2026.
The summer holidays are the perfect time to get hooked in books, get lost in stories and expand your reading journey.
Every young person is welcome to join in and read books at a pace that suits them best.
Registration is FREE.

What can you discover about your local area?
Pick up a passport from any CBCity Library, grab your family and go on a quest to answer the questions in the passport.
Return your completed passport to your local CBCity Library to go into the draw to win a prize.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions about our summer reading club.
You can pick up a paper reading log from any CBCity Library or register online and track your reading online.
Spend each day in summer reading books and record it on your online or paper log sheet.
Online
For every 10 days of reading recorded, show it to CBCity Library staff to claim your prize.
Complete your log sheet by 1 February 2026. Return your completed reading log to CBCity Library to enter in the national prize draw by 8 February 2026.
Completed online logs is entered into the national draw automatically.
For every 10 days of reading, you will receive a sticker and pencil from your local CBCity Library.
After completing the log sheet, you will automatically enter into the national major prize draw. Winners will be announced on Monday 23 February 2026.
National prizes:
- 0-4 years: Picture book bundle pack
- 5-8 years: Books and activity park
- 9-12 years: Bluetooth headphones
- 13-18 years: Kobo eReader
There are so many ways children and teens can engage with reading that counts towards their days/books read:
Books and print
- Board books, picture books, chapter books, graphic novels or comics, Manga, non-fiction books, magazines, newspapers, re-reading a favourite book, reading books in any language
Listening and shared reading
- Listening to someone read aloud (family, siblings, librarians, etc.)
- Reading together with an adult, sibling, or friend
- Reading along while listening to an audiobook
- Looking at the pictures while someone reads the words
- Reading subtitles or closed captions (Storybox Hub)
Digital
- Books on a phone, tablet, or eReader
- Digital comics or graphic novels
- Listening to eAudiobooks or audiobooks
- Watching videos of stories
