Lakemba Library and Knowledge Centre started in 1949 making it one of the oldest public libraries in the Canterbury-Bankstown area.
The library is very conveniently situated, close to Lakemba Metro station (opening in 2026).
The high ceilings and natural light make it very welcoming. We offer a range of physical and e-resources in English, as well as other languages such as Bengali and Arabic. The library continues to be a focal point and a meeting place for the surrounding multi-cultural community.
