Child protection means making sure all kids are safe and cared for. It is never your fault if someone makes you feel unsafe. Adults should help keep kids safe.
When you feel scared or unsafe
- Feeling like you’re in danger
- Not having enough food or water
- Not having a safe place to live
- Not getting help when you’re sick or hurt
- Not being allowed to learn
- Being called mean names or made to feel small
You have the right to feel safe
- Your body belongs to you
- You can say 'no' if something feels wrong
- If you feel scared or unsure, that's your body warning you
If you feel unsafe
- Tell a trusted adult (parent, teacher, school counsellor)
- If they don’t help, tell another adult
- Keep asking until someone helps you

Stay safe online by
- Not sharing your last name, address, phone number or school
- Using a nickname instead of your real name
- Never meeting online friends in real life without your parents knowing
- Not posting photos that show where you live or what school you go to
- Making sure your parents know what you’re doing online

Bullying is when someone keeps being mean on purpose. It can include hitting, name-calling, leaving someone out or spreading rumours. It hurts people’s feelings and it’s never okay.
When you feel bullied
- Tell someone you trust – a parent, teacher, counsellor or adult
- Say: “Stop. It’s not okay”
- Walk away if you can and find a safe place
- Stay near people who make you feel safe
- If you see someone being bullied, comfort them and tell an adult
- Say 'Stop it' and get help! You have the right to feel safe.
