- What emergency service do you require: Police, Fire or Ambulance?
- What is the address of the emergency?
- What has happened?
Do not hang up until the operator tells you to. You may need to hold the line until an ambulance arrives.
Child protection is about making sure all kids are safe and well. It is not your fault if someone is making you feel scared and unsafe.
Everyone – including parents, teachers and even strangers – should help keep children safe from harm. This can include:
- feeling like you’re in danger
- not having enough to eat or drink
- not having somewhere safe and warm to live
- not getting help when sick or hurt
- not being provided learning for your age
- being called bad names, being sworn at, making you feel small or less important, dismissing you
- You are not alone. Even though it may be scary, help is available
- You have a right to feel safe and comfortable, especially at home and school. Your body is your own and you have the right to speak up or say "no" when you are not comfortable, unsafe or unsure
- When you feel uncomfortable, scared or feel like something is wrong, that is your body telling you are unsafe
- It's okay to ask for help and you should always tell a trusted adult about any concerns you have, big or small. If that adult doesn’t help, keep asking for help from another trusted adult and keep asking until you get help
- If you see or hear something that makes you worry about another child's safety, you should report it to a trusted adult, like a parent, teacher, or police officer

Bullying is when one person or a group keeps being mean to another person on purpose. It can be by hitting, calling names, leaving them out, or spreading rumours. It hurts people’s feelings and it’s not okay.
- Don’t keep it a secret even if you are feeling embarrassed. Tell your parents, teacher, a school counsellor, or another adult you trust. You are not alone
- If someone is hurting you, tell them to “Stop. It’s not okay”
- If the situation feels unsafe, walk away if you can and go to a safer place
- Stay close to people who make you feel safe, if possible
- If you see someone else being bullied, you can help by telling an adult, be comforting and check in on them
Remember:
- You didn’t do anything wrong
- You deserve to be treated with respect
- You are important, just the way you are
