Terms and Conditions of Entry

Important information for all attendees of Lakemba Nights during Ramadan 2026.

Canterbury-Bankstown Council is committed to ensuring that Lakemba Nights during Ramadan 2026 is a safe, inclusive and enjoyable event for all attendees. These Conditions of Entry have been developed to support effective crowd management, minimise environmental impact and promote respectful behaviour throughout the Event precinct. Council thanks all attendees for helping to maintain a welcoming and peaceful environment for the community.

This notice is issued by Canterbury-Bankstown Council under section 632 of the Local Government Act 1993 (Act). Failure to comply with this notice is an offence under section 670 of the Act.

All persons entering Lakemba Nights during Ramadan 2026 (Event) agrees to be bound by and comply with the following Terms and Conditions of Entry:

  1. Council reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any person from the Event at its sole discretion, including where a person’s conduct breaches these Terms and Conditions of Entry or interferes with the safety, comfort or enjoyment of others.
  2. All attendees must comply with directions from Council staff, security personnel and emergency services at all times.
  3. All attendees must comply with all signs around the Event.
  4. The following are strictly prohibited within the event precinct:
    • Littering or improper disposal of waste
    • Balloons of any kind (including foil, helium, latex)
    • Distribution or display of flyers, posters, banners, flags, or A-frames
    • Use of loudspeakers and/or sound systems
    • Any form of spruiking
    • No commercial and/or business activity or enterprise
    • Sale of goods or services without prior written authorisation from Council
    • Mascots, costumed characters or unauthorised promotional activity
    • Bicycles, e-bikes, skateboards, scooters, e-scooters, horses or similar transport devices
    • Drones or other aerial devices
    • Setting up of tables, chairs or unauthorised structures
    • Protesting, protest marches or any form of disruptive assembly
    • Anti-social, aggressive, offensive, or disruptive behaviour
    • Firecrackers, fireworks or any explosive devices
    • Graffiti, vandalism or defacing of property
    • Possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol
    • Possession of weapons or items that could be used as weapons
    • Use of recording devices for commercial purposes without prior approval
  5. Alcohol, smoking and vaping are not permitted within the Event.
  6. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
  7. Bags and personal belongings may be subject to search upon entry or at any time within the Event area.
  8. Attendees consent to being filmed or photographed by Council for promotional, archival or security purposes.
  9. Council accepts no liability for loss, damage or theft of personal property.
  10. Entry to the Event is at the individual’s own risk. Attendees acknowledge and agree that Council is not liable for any injury, loss or damage unless caused by Council’s gross negligence.
  11. Council reserves the right to alter these Terms and Conditions of Entry at any time and may take enforcement action, including prosecution, for any breach of these Terms and Conditions of Entry.

Section 660 of the Act provides that, among other things, it is an offence for any person to wilfully obstruct, amongst others, an employee of a local council in the exercise of that person’s functions under the Act.
