The adrenaline-pumping sport of dodgeball is about to hit Riverwood in a big way with a highly anticipated dodgeball competition!

In partnership with Dodgeball Sydney, the competition at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre will bring teams from all corners of the City to lace up their sneakers and join in the dodgeball extravaganza from Wednesday 19 July.

Whether you’re a seasoned player or a dodgeball rookie, this competition guarantees fastpaced action and fierce (but fun) rivalries. Hilarious dodgeball puns and quotes from the 2004 film are optional.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the competition not only promoted active lifestyles, but also fosters a sense of unity and camaraderie among participants and spectators alike.

“It isn’t just about dodging balls and scoring points. It’s a celebration of athleticism, laughter and community spirit,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

Teams of 6-10 players are invited to register for the tournament.

Armed with foam balls and fuelled with competitive spirit, players will unleash their lightning fast reflexes and cunning tactics to eliminate opponent and seize victory.

“Spectators can expect jaw-dropping catches, quick dodges and precision throws that will leave them in awe,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“They could even witness throws of up to 105 or 120 kilometres per hour, which are the current fastest female and male throws respectively.”
