City of Canterbury Bankstown’s annual safety expo is back in person this year, and it’s so big it’s had to move outside!
The expo, usually held inside Bankstown Central, will be outside this year, next to Lady Cutler Avenue, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever according to Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor, Khal Asfour.
“Our Community Safety Expo is a full day of action with all our local emergency and safety services, including NSW Fire and Rescue, NSW Police, State Emergency Services, Surf Life Saving and more. It’s a fantastic experience for the kids, with a fire engine and police car there for them to explore, as well as freebies and activities,” says Mayor Asfour.
“You’ll also see demonstrations showing how our amazing emergency services keep our community safe and help out in a crisis. Some of these are just mind-blowing, including the super-smart police dogs in action and an incredible demonstration of a car being cut open to save ‘injured’ people,” he says.
Performances, giveaways, prizes, competitions and kids’ face painting and a petting zoo will be happening all day.
