Positive Ageing Plan 2024-2028

The Positive Ageing Plan 2024-2028 was developed in consultation with the community to address the needs of older individuals living, working and visiting Canterbury-Bankstown

Adopted by the Council in June 2024, this plan will guide our efforts over the next four years, focusing on improving services, access and information for seniors in our community. It represents Council’s commitment to actioning the feedback we have received on making Canterbury-Bankstown more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for seniors.

Our key priorities are:

  • Living in age-friendly environments: enhancing the suitability of housing and public spaces for seniors.
  • Participating in inclusive communities: fostering opportunities for seniors to engage and participate fully in community life.
  • Staying safe, active and healthy: promoting health and safety initiatives that support active and healthy living.
  • Being resilient and informed: ensuring seniors have the information and resources they need to be resilient and well-informed.
  • Living in a dementia-friendly city: creating an environment that supports individuals living with dementia and their families.
