Canterbury-Bankstown Animal Shelter, located at Rossmore Veterinary Hospital, offers a shelter service which houses dogs and cats that have been found straying or have been seized from the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area. The hospital seeks new homes for animals that cannot be returned to their owners.
Dogs and cats may also be surrendered to the shelter but only under specific circumstances, and by prior arrangement. Please contact Canterbury-Bankstown Animal Shelter to discuss this.

Prior to rehoming, dogs and cats are desexed, lifetime registered, vaccinated and microchipped. They also leave the shelter with a collar and tag. The shelter has a wide range of dogs and cats for sale and all are temperament tested.
The Canterbury-Bankstown Animal Shelter operates under a 'low euthanise' practice. This means only those dogs or cats assessed to be either a danger or having an illness that would affect its quality of life are euthanised.
