Goondah Reserve Upgrade

Council is planning an exciting new playground and upgraded open space at Goondah Reserve.

In Construction

Council is planning an exciting new playground and upgraded open space at Goondah Reserve.

The reserve is located in Bura / Bass Hill Ward and bordered by Coolalie, Goondah, Kungala and Yunga Burra Streets in Villawood.

Community feedback shows strong support in improving the outdoor space by incorporating play equipment for toddlers, children of all abilities, and older children, as well as a barbecue area for families to gather. The interest in this project has been overwhelmingly positive and is expected to deliver a great outcome for our community.

Following the upgrade, Goondah Reserve will be home to the highest level of playground and equipment that Council provides – a Play Level 1. The new space will include:

  • Tier 1 playground:
    • Play tower
    • Swings
    • Bike track
    • Zip line
    • Slide
    • Nature play
  • Half-court basketball court
  • Exercise equipment
  • Youth hang-out space
  • Amenities block
  • Barbecue facilities
  • Picnic space
  • Walking track

These upgrades will transform the site into a modern open space and recreational area for people of all ages to visit and enjoy.

Construction is expected to begin late 2026.

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program and Canterbury-Bankstown Council.
