Our City is home to a vibrant and culturally-diverse population, with a large proportion of the residents aged under 18 years old. We are committed to upholding children's rights and, in particular, to making City of Canterbury Bankstown a child-friendly City. Our aim is for children and young people to be active participants in the community, where they are acknowledged as equal citizens and where their opinions are valued. Our city aims to meet the needs of children of all ages.
The report identifies those areas where we are doing well and areas where improvements can be made, as well as some areas that require more data.
Children here in the City are already doing well in many ways, and we are dedicated to ongoing monitoring of and reporting on their wellbeing. We look forward to a future where all children are healthy, developing and learning well, feel safe, enjoy plenty of natural outdoor spaces and opportunities for leisure, and are able to participate in their communities.
