Josh Sly (Murruwa) is a proud Biripi Worimi & Wiradjuri man from Bathurst. He has been living, working, sharing and learning culture in Western Sydney and greater Sydney area for the last 10 years.
Josh comes from a family line of professional artists, craftsmen and cultural performers.
As a young child heading into his teenage years, Josh was mentored by his Elders and Knowledge Holders about his culture.
Josh specialises in cultural education and connection to culture within the areas of art, dance, language, storytelling, traditional toolmaking and connection to country.
With the guidance of Elders and Knowledge Holders, Josh now has over 10 years of experience in the cultural performance and education space. Josh is a professional Yidaki didgeridoo player, songman and dancer who has performed and shared culture right across Australia and internationally.
Josh is one of the leading songmen and dancers of dirraybang footprint. He is also a principal dancer of Muggera Dancers and collaborates with the Jannawi Dance Clan and Wuruniri.
ChillCheney is an Indigenous Hip Hop artist living in Gadigal country (Sydney).
He delivers an electrifying performance that seamlessly blends the rhythm of live drums, the groove of a DJ’s beats, the soul of dynamic backing vocals and an electric guitarist. His shows are a high-energy roller coaster, taking audiences on a wild ride through his captivating storytelling and infectious dance rhythms.
ChillCheney masterful blend of storytelling and energetic beats creating an unforgettable experience that keeps the crowd moving and engaged from start to finish.
His performance record is an eclectic mix of events and venues, including, COOEE festival, Yabun Festival, NAIDOC in The City festival, Dulwich Hill Festival, Liverpool Festival and Marrickville Festival.
Warmed the crowd for Drapht during his tour and supported Tech N9ne at his Sydney show.
ChillCheney has also orchestrated an exciting Australian tour that took place in May and June, 2024, with captivating performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, and Newcastle.
