Each experience offers a unique opportunity to learn about Darug Country, its rich stories and the deep cultural heritage that has shaped this place for thousands of years.
Virtual Songlines provides an immersive way to explore Darug Country through interactive maps, storytelling and digital experiences. Discover what the local landscape may have looked like before colonisation, gain insight into cultural knowledge and deepen your understanding of the enduring connection First Nations peoples have with Country.
This initiative reflects our commitment to reconciliation and truth-telling, creating meaningful opportunities for our community to learn about, respect and celebrate First Nations culture, history and knowledge.

Who is behind Virtual Songlines?
Virtual Songlines is led by Brett Leavy, a First Nations Digital Aboriginal Creator and descendant of the Kooma people. Brett uses digital design, 3D visualisation and virtual reality to bring cultural stories, knowledge and history to life. His work is guided by Traditional Owners, Elders and experts across many fields.
To ensure this experience reflects our local area, Brett worked with the CBCity First Peoples Advisory Committee, community members at Lyora Matta and NAIDOC events who shared cultural knowledge of Darug Country to help shape what you see on this page.
We invite you to explore the Virtual Songlines experience below and deepen your understanding of the rich cultural heritage of our City.
