Canterbury Bankstown Online Youth Week Activities

April 2020

​This year's theme is "Speak up. Be involved. Get connected. Have fun.". COVID-19 means we can't hold our planned events, so we're moving Youth Week online!​

Youth Week Instagram Competition 2020

Have you ever wanted to take over Council's Instagram? Young people of Canterbury-Bankstown, we need YOU for our Youth Week Instagram Takeover.

Upload a video, photo, or graphic showing what is great about being a young person in Canterbury-Bankstown. Post with the hashtag #CBYOUTHWEEK for your chance to be featured in @ourcbcity Instagram Stories. Entries will go in the draw to WIN an Ipad! Each post counts as an entry, and the winner will be drawn the day after the competition closes.

Term and Conditions

WHO CAN ENTER?

  • Entry is open to young people aged 12-24 who live, work or study in the Canterbury Bankstown LGA

HOW TO ENTER

  • The competition commences on Friday 3 April at 11am and concludes on Sunday 20  April 2020 at 11:50pm.
  • Eligible entrants Instagram's profiles must be public in order to be featured on the Instagram takeover
  • Eligible entrants (including winners) in the competition may enter (submit a photo or video) once per day 
  • Entries must be received by Sunday 20 April 2020 at 11:50pm.

PRIZES

  • There will be one (1) prize draw and one (1) winner. The winner will receive one prize package, as set out below.
  • The prize consists of:
    • Quantity Details RRP Apple iPad 32GB Wi-Fi  [7th Gen] 
    • Total prize value is $529.00
  • If the winner of the prize is under the age of 18 as at the date of the draw, an adult must​ accompany the minor in the participation of the prize.
  • ​​Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.

​​HOW TO WIN

  • There will be one (1) winner chosen from total pool of entries received, chosen on Monday 21 April. Each entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the competition will be eligible. The winner will be chosen at random.

  • The winner will be notified by Instagram. The winner's name will be published on Council's Instagram

NO LIABILITY

6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

  • ​Canterbury Bankstown Council will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
  • Canterbury Bankstown Council will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss or claim that may occur:
    • during the draw;
    • ​while undertaking any activity in or connected with their entry into the draw;
    • in the participation in any prize;
    • as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
    • due to the publication of any material, including any statements made by any staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
    • ​in relation to failure of an entry to be received by the promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion;
    • arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any computer equipment, software, internet connection, any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer software related to or resulting from participation in this promotion.
  • If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.​

  • The competition commences on Wednesday 1 April at 9:00am and concludes on Thursday 30 April 2020 at 11:50pm.
  • In order to enter, eligible entrantsmust make a public post on the Active Canterbury Bankstown Facebook page @activecanterburybankstown with a video of themselves being active. This will enable us to see the entry.
  • Entries must be received by Thursday 30 April 2020 at 11:50pm.
  • The four (4) winners will be chosenfrom a total pool of entries and the winner will be chosen by Active CB staff.
  • The winner will be notified throughFacebook.

  • There will be one (1) prize pool andfour (4) winners. The first place winner will be chosen by Active CB staff andwill receive one prize package, as set out below.
  • The prize consists of an Apple iPad32GB Wi-Fi [7th Gen]. The total prize value is $529.00 (RRP).
  • The prize can be collected fromCampsie Administration Building, 137 Beamish St Campsie, at a mutually agreedtime.

​Youth Week 2019

Youth Week in 2019 was held between 10-18 April and Council worked with young people and youth services across our City to plan a week filled with entertainment, sports, music and most of all fun! 

The Youth Week theme for 2019 was Coming together to Connect, Share, Speak out, and Celebrate. It was celebrated here in Canterbury-​Bankstown by inviting our youth to take part in a range of different activities and events.
