Anyone who spends time in Campsie knows how much residents and business appreciate Anzac Mall – it’s a special space to catch up with friends, indulge in some “me time” or just relax in between your grocery shopping or café catch ups!

CBCity has been carrying out short-term trials and installations under the NSW Department of Planning Environment’s Streets as Shared Spaces Program – known as SASSi  - to guide future improvements to the space.

Take yourself for a wander around the fabulous local businesses, check out the games and art installations or just chill out with your friends in Anzac Mall – there’s even solar-powered WIFI charging in our pop-up seating.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour spent time in Anzac Mall recently, having a look at the lively and colourful installations.

“I’m sure Campsie residents, as well as visitors, will enjoy this fresh new space. It’s a great way to attract more people to the area and, at the end of the day, it’s the local businesses who will benefit the most – so come on down to Campsie and make the most of everything this great location has to offer!” Mayor Asfour said.

The project includes:

  • Temporary street installations;

  • Extension of the Anzac Square shared zone to prioritise pedestrian movement and safety and enhance access to Campsie Station and surrounding areas;

  • Festive lighting to encourage evening visitation; and

  • A sidewalk parklet, fun seating options for outdoor dining, social gatherings, study and a ‘magic carpet’ pathway link new floor graphics linking Beamish Street to Anzac Park.

The SASSi Campsie project, which includes Anzac Mall, Park and Square, will run until February 2023.
