I was first elected as Councillor of the former Bankstown City Council in 2004 and held the role of Deputy Mayor from 2008-11.  I also served as Mayor from 2011-14 and again in 2015.In 2017, I was elected as the inaugural Mayor of the City of Canterbury Bankstown; elected to the Board of Local Government NSW (LGNSW); and appointed Junior Vice President of the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC).

One of my passions and priorities is assisting residents in need and ensuring the local community has the opportunity to have a say on the future of Canterbury-Bankstown.  I am also strongly committed to Council's Mission 'to provide quality services to our community every day'.

I am dedicated to building stronger ties between Council and the community; sporting groups and associations; service clubs; registered clubs; and businesses across the City.

I intend to continue to lead the advocacy on important matters, such as sustainable development and infrastructure support, to make our City an even better place to live, work in and enjoy.
