Wally came to prominence in Freestyle Wrestling in 1972 at the age of twenty eight and he achieved the National Championship Status in 1973 and 1978. In the same year he was selected to represent Australia in the Commonwealth Games Edmonton, Canada. Wally continued to wear the green and gold at the International Police Olympics in Texas in 1982.

Beginnings
Wally was born and educated in the district and would reside in Gowrie Avenue, Punchbowl. He would become a member of the Bankstown Police Citizens Youth Club and would eventually join the Police Force.
Achievements
Wally won the National Championship Status in 1973 and 1978 as well as competing in the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Canada in 1978 where he placed 5th in the 100kg division. In 1982 Wally represented Australia at the International Police Olympics in Texas.
Post Representation
Wally has worked for many years with the Sydney Water Police as a diver and was the co-ordinator for the 1988 International Law Enforcement Olympics. He is still currently competing.
