Upcoming Chemical CleanOut Day
Safely dispose of your household chemicals
Saturday 9 May, 9am-3:30pm
Different recycling and disposal methods are needed for these toxic types of waste. Never put them in your household bins.
Our Chemical CleanOut events are held twice a year. The NSW Environmental Protection Agency provides these FREE household chemical collection services for all NSW residents. This project is a Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.
You can also drop off your old household chemicals, any time of the year, at one of the many permanent Community Recycling Centres.
If you miss Council’s Household Chemical Collections, don’t worry, there are a number of existing industry supported programs to collect left over paint, used lead-acid batteries, old medicines and other hazardous household materials.
You can drop off:
- Household and pool chemicals
- Fire alarms and extinguishers
- Motor oils, fuels and fluids
- Gas bottles and No2 canisters
- Batteries
- Paint products
- Car batteries
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Fluorescent globes and tubes
