Tim Pickup

In 1975 saw Tim's contract with Canterbury Bankstown Club start with a bang. As their captain he led the team to a barnstorming start to the season and he would continue playing until 1979. Throughout his Rugby League career he would play in the Five-eighth position.

Beginnings

Tim played Rugby Union for the Manly Rugby Club as a 17-year old for 3 seasons in the late 1960s. Tim was selected to play for City and State and would represent Australia from 1972 -1975 playing a total of 11 matches.

Achievements

1972 On his return to Australia after playing in England on a working holiday Tim was signed by Norths. Tim played for NSW and Australia in his initial season in first grade. Tim's season ended prematurely when he suffered a knee injury playing for Australia in the 1975 World Cup. Tim played 47 first grade games and 32 reserve grade games for Canterbury Bankstown.

Post Representation

On retirement Tim would later became a director of the Canterbury Leagues Club in 1979. He went on to manage the boxer Jeff Harding and in 1995 became the Foundation CEO of the Adelaide Rams franchise of the Australian Super League.
