Off the track he is known as a ‘gentle giant’ and for his character and humour outside of cycling.
Beginnings
Sean began his cycling journey aged 10. He became a professional cyclist in 1990 and quickly made a name for himself in the cycling community. He has been a dedicated member of the Bankstown Sports Cycling Club since 1997.
Achievements
Sean represented Australia in track cycling as a member of the Australian sprint team that won bronze at the 1997 UCI World Championships, silver at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games and bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Sean was also selected for the 2004 Athens Olympics. In August 2002, he set a Commonwealth Games record for the flying 200m with a time of 10.145 seconds and won silver in the sprint and gold in the team sprint events. Later that year, he became the UCI World Champion by winning the 2002 World Sprint Championship in Denmark.

Since retiring from competitive cycling, Sean has continued to contribute to the sport as a member of the Bankstown Sports Cycling Club, where he remains active and involved in the cycling community.
