Treasure the Moment, an upcoming expo dedicated to dementia risk reduction and wellbeing, is back this month.
The event, to be held at the Bryan Brown Theatre and Function Centre on Monday 18 September, is about raising awareness and providing support for individuals and families affected by dementia.
The expo will feature a series of sessions and workshops conducted by industry experts in dementia care and research.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in dementia research, caregiving strategies and available resources for individuals living with dementia and their families.
Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the event is free for the community to attend.
“We are excited to host Treasure the Moment and it is a great opportunity to learn more,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
“Our goal is to empower those community members impacted by dementia with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate this challenging journey.”
Through collaborative efforts, such as the Treasure the Moment expo, the City of Canterbury Bankstown aims to raise awareness, enhance support systems and foster an environment where individuals living with dementia and their families can thrive with dignity and understanding.
This is an important step towards becoming a dementia-friendly City.
