Jacob made his international debut representing Australia in 2000 against Scotland.

Beginnings

Jacob Burns began his football career in Greenacre, from where he progressed into the Bankstown representative systems. He then made NSW State side before playing with the local team, Sydney United. He then moved to local rivals, Parramatta Power, leaving in 2000 to join Premier League Club, Leeds United. They signed him as squad cover, and he only played eleven games during his three-year stay.

Achievements

Jacob Burns played for the Australian Socceroos from 2000-2010 with 11 caps for representing Australia. In the under 23’s division he also represented Australia and achieved another 10 caps. Jacob then went on to play for Premier League Club, Leeds United for three years (2000-2003). Jacob was part of the A-League Club, Perth Glory from 2009 to 2014. In 2011 and 2012 whilst playing for Perth Glory, Jacob was awarded the ‘Joe Marston Medal’ for the best player of the match.
