Glenn Williams

Glenn demonstrated his playing ability early and in 1986 aged 11 he was selected as the NSW Claxton Shield Batboy. His playing career spanned across 20 years until 2006. Glenn wore the green and gold for Australian at two Olympic Games - Sydney and in Athens. He was credited by his peers as being one of the most inspirational and motivating players on the 2004 Olympic Qualifying campaign and the team won the Silver medal.

Beginnings

Glenn's formative years were spent in Ingleburn where he attended Moorebank High. At the age of 5 in 1982, he began playing baseball with the Ingleburn Magpies and his junior years with Bankstown in the Bankstown Association.

Achievements

In 2004 Glenn was voted the best defensive 3rd baseman in International League AAA. He made his major league debut in June of 2005 and started his league career by hitting safely in 13 straight games (tying a major league record). In 2004 Glenn was also part of the Australian Team that took Silver at the Olympic Games in Athens.

Post Representation

Glenn was the Manager of High Performance and Baseball Operations (NSW Baseball League) in 2009 and played for the Sydney Blue Sox in 2010..

In 2012 Glenn was inducted into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame and is considered a key member of the Australian National Team coaching staff.
