The popular fitness queen is about to get some stiff competition with the launch of City of Canterbury Bankstown’s own interactive health and fitness video.

The interactive video has been produced for residents who use the many outdoor fitness gyms and training equipment in our City.
The get fit initiative developed in partnership with the South Western Sydney Local health district will make it easier for residents to stay healthy and active.

Mayor Khal Asfour said he wanted to encourage more and more people to get outdoors and engage in physical activity in a safe and accessible way.

“We’ve created the facilities and the training video so absolutely anybody of any age and fitness level can benefit from using it.
“It’s available to them 24/7 – whenever they want.”

Mayor Asfour said the video and accompanying brochure were produced by highly trained professionals.

“This is quite unique and every activity we’ve included in the outdoor fitness activation program has been specially developed by an accredited exercise physiologist. They put together their advice based on the existing equipment of our outdoor fitness gyms.”

The video and brochure uses the outdoor gym equipment at Wiley Park as a guide to outline how to perform each exercise, and the recommended amount of repetitions people should do.

“We’ve done all the heavy lifting for you and the great thing is community members don’t need gym memberships, personal trainers, or even an internet connection to stay healthy and active in our City,” Mayor Asfour said.

“Some people may not know about a park that exists around the corner from them, so this resource sees us continue promoting healthy and active lifestyles across CBCity.”
