Originally from Condobolin NSW, Chris Anderson's ability to finish off attacking moves was almost uncanny. One of the first of the modern brand of wingers granted a 'roving commission' to link with the attack anywhere on the field, representative honours came to him in 1974 when he was chosen for NSW. In 1975 he was selected to represent Australia in the World Cup Series.

Beginnings
Chris was educated at Marist Brothers, Forbes but went on to complete his schooling at Holy Cross, Ryde in 1970 while playing grade football for the then Berries. Chris accepted the club's first sporting scholarship. In 1974 he progressed to represent both City and NSW and at the end of year joined the English team Widnes.
Achievements
Chris was selected to represent Australia from 1978 to 1982 for the Kangaroo Tour on which he played in all 5 Tests. The 1982 Kangaroos would be come known as ‘the Invincibles' as the first touring team to go through undefeated.
Post Representation
Chris retired in1984 after 15 seasons holding several club records with Canterbury.
