Brendan Kingman

Brendan's professional career in Australia began in 1991 and the following year at 19 years of age he was recruited by US team the Florida Marlins. He wore the green and gold for Australian at two Olympics, Sydney 2000 and was a member of the team to win Silver at Athens 2004 Olympics. Brendan's sixth-inning single sent Australia to a stunning 1-0 victory over Japan to advance to the gold medal round. He has also represented his country in two World Cups.

Beginnings

Brendan spent his formative years in Priam Street, Chester Hill and at the age of 10 started playing for Bankstown Sports Baseball Club. In 1990 while attending Bass Hill High he received the President's Award for Baseball. Brendan joined Canterbury Bankstown Vikings at the start of the 1989/1990 season.

Achievements

Brendan was a member of the 1997 Australia's Intercontinental Cup team in Barcelona which won Australia's first medal in a worldwide event, bronze. He was also a silver medallist at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

Post Representation

Brendan continues his involvement in the sport as a player and coach. In 2005 Brendan coached the NSW U/16 squad to first place in the Australian National Championships and played for the Sydney Blue Sox in 2011.
