One of Sydney's best and most loved food festivals, Bankstown Bites, is back next month.

On Saturday 31 July, Olympic Parade, Bankstown will be transformed into a food-lover's wonderland with dozens of food stalls, food tours, live entertainment, competitions and cooking demonstrations.

Good Chef Bad Chef host, Adrian Richardson, will headline the festival as its celebrity chef.

He will carry out cooking demonstrations and share his culinary secrets, as he prepares some mouth-watering dishes.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said after a brief hiatus in 2020, he's excited to announce the food festival is returning.

"Bankstown Bites is always a fantastic day out for the whole family and I encourage everyone to come along," he said.

"Whether you want delicious food, fun rides for kids or to see professional chefs in action, Bankstown Bites will be the place to be."

This year's event has been extended and will run from 11am-7pm. Highlights include:

  • Celebrity chef cooking demonstrations with Adrian Richardson (Good Chef Bad Chef) and Alvin Quah (former MasterChef contestent);
  • Guest appearance from dessert queen Therese Lum (MasterChef contestant 2021);
  • More than 30 food stalls;
  • Food tours (tickets available from 1 July);
  • Entertainment and kids' activities; and
  • Bankstown Arts Centre Open Day (10am-4pm).

"I am proud we're able to feature some of the City's top restaurants every year and not only show locals, but also people far and wide, just how incredible the food scene is here in Canterbury-Bankstown," Mayor Asfour said.

The festival is proudly supported by: Bankstown Sports, Bankstown RSL, Bankstown City Unity Bank, Canterbury-Bankstown Torch newspaper, Dan Viet newspaper, Chinese News and Media Group.
