Rock-hard centre, Andrew came to prominence earlier as a 17 year old when he was selected to play in the Australian Schoolboys tour of England and France. The gifted teenager from Cowra would be signed by the Bulldogs the next year. Andrew waited until 1988 to earn an Australian jersey, gaining a place in the World Cup final in NZ. Farrar produced a characteristically robust display in Australia's 25-12 victory but did not represent his country again.
