Wally represented Australia at the age of 19 when he attended his first Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in the 48KG Class.

Beginnings

Although a resident in Granville, Wally won of WES championships from 1874 1980 and would represent Australia twice at the Commonwealth Games whilst competing for Bankstown Police Youth Club.

Achievements

His outstanding career in Wrestling would continue with national representation in three more Commonwealth Games in 1978, 1982 and 1986. In 1988 his ultimate accolade would come wearing the green and gold at the Seoul Olympics in the Men's Light-Heavyweight Freestyle Division.

Post Representation

On retirement Wally continued contributing to his sport through coaching.
