Sue Cassell

Sue was introduced to the sport at a very early age and was bowling in her first championship by the age of nine. Sue was selected to represent Australia by 1976 and wore the green and gold for Australia until 2001.

Beginnings

Sue was born in the district and educated at Bass Hill Primary School and Condell Park High School. Her first bowling lesson was at the age of three and by 1971 would be bowling in her first New South Wales State Championship.

Achievements

In 1990-91 The Australian Sports Commission Annual Report noted that Tenpin bowler Sue Cassel was named unofficial world champion by the international media. She was an Australian Representative from 1976 - 1985.

Post Representation

In 2003, Sue with her partner, built the Illawarra Strikezone, a 24-lane bowling centre with a licensed restaurant at Albion Park.
