Salmon Reserve

Salmon Reserve provides play and green space for the community and stands as a place of remembrance honouring Florence and Leonard Salmon for their service and sacrifice in World War II.

With a playground, open green space and a seating area, this park offers room for everyone to enjoy. The playground includes a slide, climbing frame and swings, while the surrounding open field is suitable for ball games, picnics or a walk.

Salmon Reserve is named in honour of siblings Florence and Leonard Salmon, who both served and passed away during the Second World War. Florence was an Australian Army nurse and continued caring for the wounded after the sinking of the SS Vyner Brooke. Her brother Leonard served with the 2/12th Field Ambulance and was on board the Australian Hospital Ship Centaur in 1943. Their dedication and service are remembered through this space, which offers a place for both recreation and quiet reflection.
